The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) is Austria’s largest non-university research facility with over 1300 employees looking back on a history of over 170 years. One of the youngest institutes is the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities (ACDH-OeAW) which was founded to foster the change towards digital paradigms in the Humanities. eLexicography is one of the five research groups at ACDH-OEAW.

developing and contributing to experimental approaches
demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and to innovate, experience/curiosity to work on cultural diversity, experience of semantics and knowledge organisation, preferably knowledge of semantic technologies (e.g. RDF, SPARQL, OWL, Linked Data); solidarity with open innovation (in science); academic orientation, teamwork and working independently in virtual intercultural and multilingual environments.
knowledge about working with museums / cultural / anthropological studies and/or collaboration practice with cultural heritage institutions; scripting skills (e.g. proficiency in Python, Java; NoSQL, Elasticsearch/Solr, R); knowledge and/or familiarity with emerging technologies and research infrastructures and social media; track record and successful grant applications; administrative and organisational skills, being fluent in German and English; multicultural background, experiences from abroad.

The employment may start from October, 1st 2017 and run initially until December, 31st 2018. The contract can be extended. In accordance with the collective agreement for employees of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the initial monthly gross salary is € 1357,80 (paid out 14 times per year, overpay possible).
